Electrical Conductivity of Ceria-Based Oxides/Alkali Carbonate Eutectic Nanocomposites

Differential thermal analysis (DTA) and electrical conductivity calculated from AC impedance measurements are discussed for binary ternary eutectics: (Li 0.52 Na 0.48 ) 2 CO 3 (LN) 0.435 0.315 K 0.25 (LNK), coexisting with nanosized CeO ceria-based oxides such as :Sm 3+ (samarium doped ceria: SDC) particles prepared by the Pechini method. The influence of surface properties smooth surfaces, narrow particle size distributions, large specific areas near eutectic point is presented. obtained DTA spectra indicate that melting enthalpy disappeared in systems a melt containing less than 30 vol% 45 LN LNK eutectics, respectively. Sm doping contributes to an increase composites below points molten carbonate. temperature dependence both carbonates SDC at contents ca. 15 does not remarkable change range each low-temperature characteristics significantly improved using because non-frozen eutectics low molar fusion limited solid-phase on ionic conduction.
